12th July, 2017 : RRC Orientation and HIV&AIDS awareness programme under the theme, “Reducing Stigma and Discrimination of people living with HIV & AIDS.” Resource person: Ainato Yeptho, Asst. Director (Youth Affairs) NSACS. Positive Speaker : Ms. Yhuni Kemp, President KNP+
 

Immanuel College, Dimapur

4th July, 2017 RRC Immanuel college, Dimapur conducted a one day seminar on the theme, “Stigma & Discrimination relating to HIV & AIDS”. The resource person was Mr. Moang Jamir, Assistance Director, Prodigals Home, Dimapur. Around 600 students attended the programme.
 

Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu, Zunheboto

 

29th August, 2017: conducted HIV & AIDS Programme at the institute Auditorium. Around 160 Students attended the programme. The resource person was Dr. Obed Sema, Medical Officer i/c PHC Atoizu, Zunheboto, where he highlighted the routes of HIV Transmission.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung

 

20th July, 2017 : Seminar in collaborated with Young WOMEN Christian Association (YWCA), Mokokchung under the theme, “Keep Calm and Get Tested”. Mr Imchawati Kichu, Managing Director, Care & Support Society, Mokokchung. MICIT conducted HIV Test. Twenty four students came forward for HIV Test.

9th August, 2017: attended One day training of Nodal Officer at Mokokchung.

11 September, 2017:  launched RRC programme

3rd October, 2017 in commemoration of National Blood Donation Day, a Blood Doantion Camp was conducted in collaboration with Blood Bank, IMDH. Dr. Chubala, SMO, IMDH highlighted on the importance of blood donation.

4th December, 2017 in commemoration of World AIDS Day, RRC Members conducted a poster Campaign on HIV & AIDS related theme.

Sazolie College, Phezhu, Jotsoma

 

9th of August, 2017: RRC Sazolie College in collaboration with 3rd (NH) Battalion, Assam Rifles and Naga Hospital Authority, Kohima conducted HIV Test at the college Campus. Sixty (60) students came for HIV Test.

5th December, 2017 : Blood Donation Camp with the theme, “Save a Life”. The motivational Speaker for the programme was Dr. Avila Sangtam. Medical Officer, NHAK. A Total of 400 participants attended the programme.

The Nodal Officer attended One day training of Nodal Officer at LCS Building, Kohima.

July, 2017 : RRC Orientation programme with the new RRC members.

–          The Nodal Officer attended One day training of Nodal Officer at LCS Building, Kohima.

–          RRC Members Participated in the painting and Elocution Competition during International Youth Day, 2017 organized by NSACS at Mount Olive College, Kohima

–          November, 2017: Two (2) RRC Members donated blood at NHAK

–          December, 2017: Two (2) RRC members donated blood during College Fiesta

–          29th January, 2018: observed National Youth Day in collaboration with Nagaland State AIDS Control at the college Auditorium. Around 300 students attended the programme. Activities: Signing of pledge and distribution    of IEC Materials

 

Witter Theological College, Wokha

 

29th June, 2017:  organized a seminar with the theme, “Redeeming the stigmatized body”  The resource person was Dr. Daniel Tikhir, Nodal Officer WTC

 

Pftsero Government College, Phek –          28th Nov. 2017 conducted HIV Awareness programme under the theme, “shared responsibility; strengthening Result for an AIDS – Free Generation.”

–          Dr. Moanochet Longchar, Principal enlightened the students about HIV & AIDS. Mr. Nuveta Khusoh, Nodal Officer led the pledge taking in solidarity to those people living HIV & AIDS.The programme was followed by Poster Competition on the theme, “let us give publicity to HIV & AIDS and not hide it.”Around 170 RRC Members attended the programme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Modern College, Kohima

Attended one day training – cum – orientation for Red Ribbon Club (RRC) Nodal Officers on 25th July, 2017 at LCS Building, Kohima.

–          August, 2017 : a general meeting of RRC was held. New Enrollment drive and selection of RRC Office bearers for the 2017-18 was conducted.

–           RRC Members Participated in the painting and Elocution Competition during International Youth Day, 2017 organised by NSACS at Mount Olive College, Kohima

23rd Nov. 2017: Poetry Writing on the theme, “Support People Living with HIV & AIDS.” And poster competition on the theme “Donate Blood to save Lives.”Around fifty (50) RRC members attended the programme. The Nodal Officer gave a short talk on the role of RRC.

–          23rd of March 2018: RRC Members with the President of RRC Modern College visited Blood Bank, NHAK to donate blood and also to learn more on Importance of Blood Donation. No. of Blood Unit Collected: 7

 

 

 

 

 

Kros College Kohima

–          RRC Members Participated in the painting and Elocution Competition during International Youth Day, 2017 organized by NSACS at Mount Olive College, Kohima

–          During Annual College Sports Meet, the RRC Members provided First Aid and distributed IEC Materials on HIV & AIDS.

–          21st March, 2018: organized a painting and Infotainment Event on the theme “Encourage Love, Not Stigma” where a painting competition was conducted and HIV awareness programme.

 

Mountain View Christian College, Kohima

10th August, 2017 : conducted college Level Competition on Painting & Elocution under the Theme “HIV Prevention.”

18th September, 2017: organized annual orientation on Red Ribbon Club under the theme, “Force a change: HIV & AIDS Awareness for young people.”

 

 

 

 

 

Jubilee Memorial College, Mokokchung

–          20th September, 2017 : Red Ribbon Club was officially launched at Jubilee Memorial College. The resource persons were Dr. Aolemla, Nodal Officer, Fazl Ali College and  Mr. Temsuwapang, President NMP+ as Positive Speaker.

–          RRC members attended world AIDS Day Programme organized by DAPCU and partnered NGOs.

–          In commemoration of World AIDS Day, 2017 the RRC members painted the college walls and drew graffiti with messages on HIV & AIDS Awareness.

–          8th December, 2017: RRC Members attended the Blood Donation Programme organized by HDFC Bank Limited, Mokokchung. The RRC Members took charge of First Aid during College Sports Day conducted on the 16 and 17 November, 2017. //No. of Blood Unit Collected: 3

Mount Olive College, Kohima –          25th July, 2017: RRC Nodal Officers attended a one day training cum orientation of Nodal Officer at LCS Building, Kohima

–          5th August, 2017: college level Painting and Elocution competition under the theme, “HIV Prevention” and “My Role in HIV Prevention.”

–          11th August, 2017: organized a cleanliness drive in the college campus.

–          12th August, 2017: organized International Youth Day in collaboration with Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, where 16 colleges from Kohima districts participated in the programme and competition under the theme, “Hands up for #HIV Prevention” and “Yes Life: No HIV.” // HIV Test : Done

 

Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur

HIV& AIDS Awareness Week

–          The Pranabananda Women’s College Red Ribbon Club, Dimapur: Nagaland had conducted HIV& AIDS Awareness Week from 5th-9th March 2018, on the theme “Role of Women in Preventing HIV& AIDS”. As a part of the programme all the Students’, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff wore Red Ribbon Badge throughout the week.

Activities: Poster Campaign and Essay Competition.

Institute of Communication & Information Technology, Mokokchung –          17th March 2018 Launched RRC.

–          Mr. Imchawati Kichu, Director Care and support Society, Mokokchung was the resource person. He highlighted on the facts of HIV & AIDS and the various routes of transmission. He insisted the students to refrain from unhealthy lifestyles and gave importance in exhorting the students on how ‘true love waits’ can bring a change to the society

State  College of Teacher Education, Kohima –          25th July, 2017 : RRC Nodal Officers attended a one day training cum orientation of Nodal Officer at LCS Building, Kohima

–          RRC Members Participated in the painting and Elocution Competition during International Youth Day, 2017 organized by NSACS at Mount Olive College, Kohima

–          Organised Adolescence Education Programme in collaboration with NSACS

Tuli College, Mokokchung –          Observed World AIDS on 1st December 2017.

Activities: Walkathon & Street Play on Basic of HIV & AIDS and Stigma & Discrimination.

Govt. Polytechnic Kohima –          Conducted quiz & Essay Competition based on the theme HIV & AIDS
SD Jain College, Dimapur –          Conducted Blood Donation Camp in the month of June, 2017

–          16 RRC Members, Principal & Vice Principal donated blood

Tetso College, Dimapur –          Conducted HIV & AIDS Seminar on the 3rd of October, 2017
Corner stone College, Dimapur –          Conducted HIV Awareness on 23rd March, 2017
Modern Institute of Teacher Education, Dimapur –          Conducted Essay Competition
 

 

 

Imlong Theological College, Tuensang

–          17th Feb. 2018 conducted HIV & AIDS Awareness. The Resource Persons were Mr. Angam, Academic Dean and Mrs. Alemla, Lecturer.

–          Topics : introduction about Red Ribbon Club and its importance today

–          Hate HIV; love the people living with HIV. Hate sin; Love the sinner.

–          Activities: Drawing and Essay Competition based on the theme stigma and Discrimination.

–          Around 39 students and Staff attended the programme.

 

 

 

 TRAINING OF RRC NODAL OFFICERS

 

ONE DAY TRAINING – CUM – ORIENTATION FOR RED RIBBON CLUB (RRC) NODAL OFFICERS

With the purpose to increase the level of HIV & AIDS awareness & role of RRCs for the smooth functioning of the program, one day training cum orientation for the RRC Nodal Officers was conducted on Zone wise i.e Kohima Zone (Kohima, Mon, Longleng, Phek, wokha & Kiphire); Mokokchung Zone (Mokokchung, Zunheboto & Tuensang) & Dimapur Zone (Dimapur & Peren) during the month of July & August 2017.

The programme was organized to acquaint the Nodal Officers about the Skills and techniques of effective communication for HIV/AIDS awareness in the college campus so as to enhance them in their role and responsibilities towards making the young populace well equipped about their understanding and knowledge of HIV/AIDS and the importance of its prevention.

20 Nodal Officer/ RRC Member from 17 Colleges, DAPCU (Kohima) and Positive Network attended the Training. The Training Programme was conducted on 21st July, 2017 at LCS Building Kohima.

The Resource Persons were:

  • Vezokhulu, Deputy Director, NSACS on Basic of HIV & AIDS and State HIV Scenario
  • Thejangunuo Thenuo, Deputy Director, IEC on Documentation & Reporting
  • Mr Mr. Ainato Yeptho, Asst. Director (YA) gave the Introductory on RRC and also conducted a session on New RRC guidelines and Annual Action Plan, as well as on Money Matters .
  • Abel Semy, KNP+ representative, spoke on Stigma & Discrimination
  • Earlier the Keynote address was given by Ms. Metevinuo Sakhire, Joint Director, IEC

 

14 Nodal Officer/ RRC Member from 13 Colleges, DAPCU (Mokokchung) and Positive Network attended the Training. The Programme was conducted on 9th August, 2017 at Hotel Metsuben, Mokokchung.

The Resource Persons were:

  • Metevinuo Sakhire, Joint Director, IEC on Basic of HIV & AIDS and State HIV Scenario
  • Ainato Yeptho, Asst. Director (YA) gave the Introductory on RRC and also conducted a session on New RRC guidelines and Annual Action Plan, as well as on Money Matters and Reporting & Documentation.
  • Wapang, MNP+ representative, spoke on Stigma & Discrimination
  • Earlier the Keynote address was given by Ms. Metevinuo Sakhire, Joint Director, IEC
