The\u00c2 National AIDS Control Organisation<\/strong>\u00c2 (NACO), established in 1992, is a division of\u00c2 India<\/a>‘s\u00c2 Ministry of Health and Family Welfare<\/a>\u00c2 that provides leadership to\u00c2 HIV<\/a>\/AIDS<\/a>\u00c2 control programme in\u00c2 India<\/a>\u00c2 through 35 HIV\/AIDS Prevention and Control Societies, and is “the nodal organisation for formulation of policy and implementation of programs for prevention and control of HIV\/AIDS in India.”<\/p>\n

In 2010, NACO approved the\u00c2 TeachAIDS<\/a>\u00c2 curriculum for use in India, an innovation which represented the first time that\u00c2 HIV\/AIDS<\/a>\u00c2 education could be provided in a curriculum which did not need to be coupled with sex education.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
